What has changed on NickSymbol, newest first. Substantive changes only — new sections, corrected facts, retired advice. Typo fixes and styling tweaks are not listed, because a changelog padded with trivia is no easier to trust than no changelog at all.

1 September 2026 — the symbol vault

  • Added: the symbol vault on the home page — ten groups sorted by shape, with 190 characters carrying their real codepoint and their official Unicode name, plus a much larger curated pool of ready-made decorations, kaomoji and name frames. Everything copies on one tap.
  • Added: a reference table of where symbol names are actually accepted, field by field, covering Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and BGMI, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp, Facebook, Roblox and Minecraft — including the places where they are rejected outright.
  • Added: a dated view of which name aesthetics are rising, holding and past their peak, so the advice can be judged on its age.
  • Added: a frequently-asked-questions block covering empty boxes, character limits, bans and whether a symbol username is possible at all.
  • Added: this changelog, an editorial policy setting out how claims here are checked, and a disclaimer covering affiliation and account risk.
  • Corrected: the home page was emitting two competing canonical tags at once. Now one.
  • Corrected: the site was publishing its own domain as its name and describing itself as a person in its structured data. It now identifies as the NickSymbol editorial team.
  • Corrected: we retired the advice, still common elsewhere, that the Hangul filler U+3164 produces a blank name in Free Fire. It has been rejected since OB43. The no-break space U+00A0 is what still works.
  • Labelled: the 14-character limit for PUBG Mobile names, repeated across most sites in this niche, has no traceable source from Krafton. It is now marked as a rule of thumb here rather than presented as a fact.

August 2026

12 August 2026 — the site opened

  • Launched: NickSymbol, with the nickname generator running on the site’s own server so results are visible to search engines rather than trapped in the browser.
  • Published: about, contact, privacy policy and terms of use.

How this page is maintained

An entry is added when something on the site changes in a way a reader would care about: a new section, a fact corrected, or advice withdrawn. Corrections are listed as corrections rather than folded silently into an edit, and retired advice says what it used to say — otherwise you cannot tell whether the version you read last month was wrong.
